Kingdom Identity Devotional
Week 43: “Light In The Darkness”

Scripture:

Matthew 5:14 — “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Devotional Teaching:

Light doesn’t struggle to be light — it simply shines .And when it shines, darkness has no choice but to retreat. Jesus didn’t say you might be light. He said you are light. This identity is not based on your personality, your past, or your performance. It comes from Christ living in you. Wherever you go, His presence in you becomes illumination for others — revealing truth, exposing lies, bringing clarity, and offering hope.

Being light in the darkness means:

• You stand out without trying
• You bring hope where others feel hopeless
• You carry peace where there is confusion
• You reflect Christ in a world that desperately needs Him

Darkness is not something to fear. Darkness is simply the absence of light — and you carry the Light of the world within you. Your presence in a room changes the atmosphere. Your words carry weight. Your life points people to Jesus. You don’t have to force it. Just shine.

Reflection Questions:

1. Where do you see darkness around you that needs God’s light?
2. How can you shine more intentionally in your daily environment?
3. What fears or insecurities try to dim your light?

Identity Declaration:

“I am the light of the world. Christ shines through me, and darkness cannot overcome it.”

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me light in the darkness. Help me shine with boldness, compassion, and clarity. Let my life reflect Jesus everywhere I go. Use me to bring hope, truth, and peace to those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
