Scripture:
Romans 8:17 (NKJV)“And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…”
Devotional Teaching:
Being saved is incredible. Being forgiven is life‑changing .Being adopted is intimate. But being an heir takes your identity to another level. God didn’t just bring you into His family —He brought you into His inheritance. You are an heir of God. You are a joint‑heir with Christ.
This means:
• What belongs to Christ belongs to you
• His victory is your victory
• His authority is your authority
• His access is your access
• His inheritance is your inheritance
You are not spiritually poor. You are not lacking. You are not empty. You are not trying to earn what God already gave you.
As an heir, you have:
• Access — you can approach God with confidence
• Authority — you carry the name and backing of Heaven
• Identity — you are part of God’s royal family
• Inheritance — everything Christ purchased is yours
• Assurance — your future is secure
Being an heir is not about entitlement — it’s about identity. You didn’t earn this inheritance. You received it by birth — your new birth in Christ.
This week, walk with the confidence of someone who knows:
• You are royalty
• You are resourced
• You are backed by Heaven
• You are part of God’s eternal plan
• You are an heir to everything Christ accomplished
You are not waiting for your inheritance —you are walking in it.
Reflection Questions:
1. What areas of your life make you feel spiritually “poor” or lacking?
2. How does knowing you are an heir change the way you see your identity?
3. Where do you need to walk in the authority and inheritance Christ has given you?
Identity Declarations:
• I am an heir of God and a joint‑heir with Christ.
• Everything Christ purchased belongs to me.
• I walk in spiritual authority, access, and inheritance.
• I am fully resourced by Heaven.
•I live from abundance, not lack.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for making me an heir through Christ. Help me walk in the authority, access, and inheritance You’ve given me. Break every mindset of lack and replace it with the truth of who I am in You. Let my life reflect the fullness of my identity as Your heir .In Jesus’ name, Amen.
