Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Devotional Teaching:
Righteousness is not something you earn — it’s something you receive. The moment you accepted Christ, something supernatural happened: God placed His righteousness on you. Not a portion. Not a percentage. Not a probationary righteousness that comes and goes. You became the righteousness of God in Christ. This means:
• You are not defined by your past
• You are not measured by your performance
• You are not accepted because you “did everything right”
• You are not rejected because you “did something wrong”
Your righteousness is not based on your behavior —it’s based on Jesus’ finished work. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your failures. He sees His Son’s righteousness covering you completely. This truth changes everything:
• You pray with confidence
• You worship without shame
• You walk without fear
• You stand without condemnation
• You grow without guilt
Righteousness is not a feeling — it’s a position. And your position in Christ is secure. Let this settle in your spirit today: You are not trying to become righteous. You already are. Reflection Questions:
1. What lies have you believed about your worthiness before God?
2. How would your prayer life change if you truly believed you were righteous?
3. What areas of your life still operate from guilt instead of grace?
Identity Declaration:
I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I stand forgiven, accepted, and covered by His grace.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for making me righteous through Jesus. Help me walk in the confidence of who I am in You. Remove every trace of guilt, shame, and condemnation from my heart.
Let Your righteousness shape how I think, pray, and live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
